Undertakings are documents provided by legal practitioners such as Lawyers and Notaries (in BC). For the conveyance of a property from one owner to another, the Undertaking binds the practitioner to some action or payment relating to the conveyance. Homeowners and Realtors are not required to provide Undertakings.
eStrataHub makes it easy to for practitioners to communicate with Property Management companies and send an undertaking letter. If the Property Management company requires an undertaking then you will receive a notification email letting you know that. To retrieve the undertaking they have sent, go to the "Undertaking" tab on the order details page and open the PDF document they have attached. Once you read the undertaking and prepare your response then you can go back to the "Undertaking" tab and attach the PDF document via the "Provide Undertaking" button. The Property Management company will either accept or reject it. If accepted then the status of the order will move to "In Progress". If rejected then you will have to find out why and resubmit another undertaking through the same procedure.
