Can you explain the Freeze ups? Better?

We've been on Windows 10 /Office 365 for several years now.  (Office Version 1902)

    Issues we have experienced:
    1) Crashes that need additional Antivirus exclusions in Trend Micro - two users only. Hasn't reoccurred. No other users have ever needed the exclusions.
    2) Failure to generate documents if there was an open MS Word with no document or a blank document. If the Blank MS Word is closed, issue goes away.
    3) Adjusted the Macros security as Do Process suggested.

    cheers

According to DoProcess (and it sounds reasonable if you ONLY look at the error message) it has to do with a loss of connection.   As mentioned, we tried everything from swapping out the computer to changing the network drop being used.   If it were anythying else on the network, it wouldn't be isolated to just one user.

This has been going on (with ONLY this user) since around April or thereabouts.    The user is getting frustrated, but I am worried about the upcoming upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 creating issues for everyone else.

    Thanks for your reply, Doug.

I haven't seen anything about adjusting macro security.   Going to look through the KB documents now.

Hey Rob - just spit balling here - Could it be a mapped drive issue? How are you mapping drives for Conveyancer? Could this one computer be dropping the mapped drive?

They have only one mapped drive, to a server share holding ALL of their data (including the Conveyancer data).

If she was intermittently unable to get at all that stuff, I would definitely have heard about it.

I also tried running the PC with firewall disabled, just as a test.   No joy.

Also scoured the event logs for ANYTHING that more or less coincided with the times she had issues.

Honestly, if we could have consistently replicated the issue, I would have used process monitor to see if I could track it down.   Still wonder if it's worth trying, although leaving that running for too long would BURY me in data!

We have another program that needs a mapped drive with one client that was having issues we ran the following on the computer. Most programs auto reconnect but some reason this other one didn't.

    net config server /autodisconnect:-1

which prevents the autodisconnect of mapped drives. I got the tip from a spiceworks post:

    https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1139165-windows-10-losing-mapped-drives

    That's all the ideas I have...sorry
